SELF LOOKS TO BOUNCE BACK IN ROOKIE BATTLE AT ROSEBURG

 

PARK CITY, UTAH (June 3, 2010) – 19 year-old NASCAR K&N Pro Series rookie Michael Self will compete in the “TOYOTA/NAPA Bonus Challenge 150” this weekend at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, OR looking to turn his momentum around after a 33rd place run at Iowa Speedway.

 

Self comes into Roseburg in the midst of a heated battle for the Rookie of the Year honors will also being scored eighth in the series points standings.  Self is ranked eighth among the 18 drivers who have been in attendance for all three races held so far.

 

The Motorway Motorsports team towed to Roseburg last weekend for a testing session.  Self used the session to get comfortable with the #88 Johnnie Walker Performance Center / Team Viva Chevrolet around the .375 mile speedway.

 

Nearly every speedway on the schedule in 2010 is new for the former karting standout.

 

Self will be looking to translate his top-ten run at the low-banked Phoenix International Raceway into a top-ten run at the nearly flat Douglas County Speedway.

 

The race not only pays points for the West Series but is the second round of the five-round NAPA Bonus Challenge.

 

Saturday practice sessions will be held at 11:30 and 12:45 with qualifying at 4:30 p.m.  The 150 lap event will begin at 8:30 p.m.
